Animal Diagnostics Services Scottsdale AZ

Pets Diagnostics Services Tempe AZ - Aztec Animal HospitalAztec Animal Hospital is dedicated to the health of your pets; so to be sure your pet receives the best care possible we have a full in-house laboratory, diagnostic abilities and radiology. The laboratory consists of blood chemistry machines that will check your pets red and white blood cell counts, liver and kidney function, the pancreas, glucose level, electrolytes, and many others.

We also have a variety of quick diagnostic tests that we call “SNAP” tests. Those tests include a Giardia test, a type of intestinal parasite, and the 4DX test; which consists of a Heartworm test, tick fever (Ehrlichiosis), Lymes disease, and Anaplasma. There is a FeLV/FIV test/Heartworm test, which tests cats for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. There is also a snap test for Parvovirus to help detect the disease early and begin treatment quicker. The latest one is a cPL test for the quick confirmation of pancreatitis. All of these will give us on the spot results in just 10 minutes or less, allowing us to treat more efficiently.

We often have pets come in with urinary problems, we are able to collect some urine and with just a few drops we can diagnose many diseases from a simple urinary tract infection to major kidney problems.

We also encourage our clients to collect stool samples from their pets and have it routinely analyzed for any intestinal parasites, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea. A simple microscopic scan of any sample and we will be able to detect the presence of parasitic activity and treat accordingly.

For more advanced laboratory services we work hand in hand with a state of the art outside support lab, which makes a daily stop at our clinic to pick up any biopsies, cultures or blood that is in need of more specialized testing.  One such test we routinely send out is the Coccidiomycosis more commonly known as Valley Fever, which can attack both dogs and cats in the Phoenix area causing many problems for them. These tests usually deliver results as early as next day.
